Skirting the Fairways
with the "oldies" at
BRIGHT
April 2009

10 "old ladies" from Anglesea travelled to Bright this week to compete in the Victorian Veterans Championship.

They constituted 1/4 of the field!!

Playing on a magnificently presented course and commencing in icy conditions they did their club proud.  Margot Parton qualified for the Championship being beaten by the winner Anna Mason from Kew.

Rhelma Barnett qualified in the 70+ age group and Vida Brenner and Heather Campbell qualified in the 65-69 age group, with Vida being runner up to Letitia Shelton from Royal Melbourne.

The course was located in a pine lined valley at the foot of the mountains and complemented by the autumn colourings of many European trees was a delight to play.

Thanks to Margot- the "old ladies" were her words- not mine........web
