On a very cold, but luckily, not wet Thursday, our holiday
clinic for girls was held at the Barwon Heads par 3 course.
Twenty one intrepid, little, and not so little golfers picked up
clubs and skills from the wonderful SWDLGA volunteers who gave
their time and enthusiasm to the girls.
The golf covered chipping, putting and long irons . This was
followed by a very popular game of Ambrose. Lots of running,
jumping with anticipation and squeals of excitement were heard
around the course. No red cards or yellow were given !!
Barwon Heads provides this course to us each holiday for our
clinics and it’s a perfect venue, so thank you to Barwon Heads
Golf Club and committee for their generosity.
It was great to see the freezing parents and grandparents there
as well!! Well done to the girls . Especially to the two who
rocked up in shorts. It just showed the rest of us how wussy we
are!!
Of course thank you to our fantastic volunteers:
Marg Holt, Tayna McGann, Jo Cordner, Marilyn Mooney, Heather
Perkins, Sue Cass, Elaine Stewart.
Sue Hazell and Joan Davies did a great job supplying the food to
re-energize and warm up. Although there was the odd request for
a Cappuccino and Latte - I can see a business opening there!!
See you at the next clinic. Ange Foott
Thanks to all girls for your attendance and to the coaches
from South Western who made it happen
