THE JUNE GILLIVOUR EVENT

This event was originally the Bronze Division 19‑ 36 Handicap event inaugurated in 1981.

In 1991 this section was divided into two further divisions; the 19‑ 29 handicap division was then named for Mrs
June Gillivour who has been associated with the SWDLGA since 1966; firstly as delegate for Portarlington;
as President of the SWDGA in 1979 continuing on as Treasurer from 1981‑ 1984; Secretary 1985- 1999. 
Life Member 1999
She was involved with the Country Team for over 21 years both as a player and as Captain and selector of the team. 
In her earlier days she assisted Miss Kernot with her junior clinics.

June Gillivour has won the René Austin brooch; was 16 times Champion of Portarlington Golf Club; Lonsdale Golf
Club Champion once; GDGA Lady Champion once; Runner‑ up SWDGA Championship twice (losing play offs);
Runner‑ up Betty Kernot Scratch foursomes twice; Life Member of the Portarlington Golf Club.  Mrs Gillivour
was very proud when the Association saw fit to name this event in her honour.
