On 3rd June Queen’s Park’s amazing Marion Watt had her 100th birthday! A celebration was held at the club where she had a visit from the Queen (also known to ladies in the District as Colleen Arnold) who delivered birthday wishes to her in person and instated her as an official “Royal Helper” in Prince  Phillip’s absence now that he now longer carries out official duties.

Marion played golf at the club for over 50 years only giving up her chipping and putting about 18 months ago. She still visits the club on a regular basis…when she is not in her garden or out to lunch or a movie!!!

Marion’s tip to a long life? “I was always fit and my one tip would be to be always active and not just sit down and think you’re old!”

Thank you Marion for allowing us to share in your life. You are an inspiration to us all!
